The Social Habit - Frequent Social Networkers
Social Networking has exploded in popularity over the past two years, with the percentage of Americans maintaining a profile page on one or more social sites doubling from 24% in 2008 to 48% in 2010. Even more remarkably, as social networking has entered the mainstream, it has also quickly become not just an occasional diversion but a habitual part of American life. In 2009, 18% of social networkers in America checked their sites and services several times a day. Just one year later, this figure stands at 30%, even as the total number of social networkers has grown. With both numbers growing dramatically, the actual number of Americans with "the social habit," who check their social media sites multiple times per day, has more than doubled, from approximately 18 million to 39 million.
This new report, based upon the 18th Edison Research/Arbitron Internet and Multimedia Research Series, examines these habitual social networkers, providing information on dempgraphics, status updating behaviors, mobile access and how social media has affected their consumption of other media. The data is based upon a nationally representative telephone survey of 1,753 Americans (including 371 mobile phone interviews) ages 12+ conducted in February, 2010.

Fieldwork was conducted by telephone by Princeton Survey Research Associates between April 30 and July 20, 2003, among a sample of 2,507 respondents ages 18 to 64 years. The sample includes 2,042 respondents who are covered by health insurance (including 1,542 who are insured through an employer and 152 who purchase their own insurance), and 457 uninsured respondents. 2009 Small Business Credit Card Survey
The NSBA 2009 Small Business Credit Card Survey provides a detailed view of how small businesses are utilizing their credit cards, how their credit-card companies are treating them, and the impacts of deteriorating credit-card terms on their business. Additionally, the survey provides valuable trending data from NSBA's 2008 Economic Reports.
Small business credit-card usage is on the rise. When asked in December 2008, 49 percent reported using credit cards in the past 12 months to finance their firms. In late- April, however, that number jumped to 59 percent. This increase is occurring despite a rise in the number of small businesses reporting worsening credit-card terms. Asked to evaluate their credit-card terms over the last five years, 79 percent reported worsening terms—up from 69 percent in December 2008. Even more eye-opening: when asked if their credit-card terms had worsened in the last six months, a whopping 75 percent reported that they had.

2008-09 Salary Offers—Expected vs. Actual. Respondents to the survey conducted in the fall of 2007 reported a mean expected salary offer of $80,602 for academic year 2008-09. Respondents to the current survey report a mean actual salary for the 2008-09 academic year of $86,292 or 7.1 percent above what was expected. As seen in Panel A of Table 4, the difference between actual and expected salary offers ranged from an under-estimation of 5 percent for all PhD granting institutions to an under-estimation of 6.8 percent for Bachelor and Master degree granting institutions. These differences may, to some degree, be a result of compositional differences between the two samples. See Figure 1 for salary distributions.

Used Electronics Market Study Survey Analysis
This analysis presents the results of the Used Electronics Market Study conducted by the Northeast Recycling Council, Inc. (NERC) . The primary goal of the study was to better understand the market demand and economic viability of reused, remanufactured and repaired electronics, and to quantify the greenhouse gas emission savings of this activity. With the rapid rate of consumer electronics obsolescence, the growing momentum to ban electronics from landfills and the economic opportunity for reuse of these resource-rich discards, NERC was compelled to gather baseline information on this industry sector. The study results are based on surveys of reuse facilities serving the Northeast.
